... for the magical smile of your child.
Desensitization is done in three steps: talk, show, do. First, we explain what we want to do in an age-appropriate way.
Then we illustrate the procedure using a doll. Finally, the treatment takes place in the child's mouth. This introduces the children to the new situation in a playful way. The children gain confidence and gain positive experiences when visiting the dentist.
The goal of hypnosis is a state of deep physical relaxation. It is a part of every treatment in our practice.
A shared reality is created, which is used for your child's dental treatment. Hypnosis is a voluntary process and your child remains in control at all times.
We call it "magic air" or "giggle air". The chocolate, vanilla or strawberry flavored nitrous oxide allows your child to completely relax during their dental treatment.
It is administered through a small nasal mask, and can often be used from the age of 5. Of course, our trained team will take care of your child's well-being and safety throughout the treatment.
Sedation is the use of anesthetics. Dental anesthesia is needed for different purposes. Nitrous oxide is administered to some children. In some cases it is necessary to perform dental treatment under general anesthesia. In our practice, dental treatment of your child under sedation is accompanied and supervised by an anesthesiologist.
Therapeutic Spellcasting ® is a combination of spellcasting and hypnotherapy. Casting spells and being enchanted means diving into another world. With conjuring we come into playful contact with your child. In a magical atmosphere we magically set solution processes in motion and successfully and quickly treat symptoms, problems and their causes of treatment anxiety. We know the inventor Annalisa Neumeyer personally and have been mentioned as a therapeutic magic pediatric dental practice in her reference books.
Treatment with the Heal Ozone device is gentle on the tooth structure and painless. It guarantees a germ-free, sterile tooth, because ozone is a high-energy form of oxygen that frees decalcified tooth from bacteria and acids. In order for the ozone to have its full effect on the tooth, a professional pre-cleaning of the tooth by the practice assistant is necessary.
It is particularly difficult to remove caries-causing bacteria in the deep, angled fissures of the molars. Ozone gas also penetrates into these poorly accessible areas and kills bacteria. Without drill, painless and without side effects. If the disease is already more advanced and has damaged the tooth substance, ozone therapy can usefully support conventional treatment against caries. The dentist first removes all diseased parts of the affected tooth with a drill under local anesthesia. The resulting cavities, which will later receive the filling, are sterilized with ozone beforehand, and any remaining bacteria are removed by 99.9%. Especially in the case of deep cavities that are close to the tooth nerve, root canal treatment can often be avoided with the help of ozone, and the tooth can remain vital.
- Desensitization and relaxation with hypnosis, all our staff and dentists are trained in this and Britta Prass and Dr. Sandra Goedecke are even certified in this field. - Length determination in endodontics of milk teeth and permanent teeth, electronic root canal preparation, root canal disinfection with ozone and laser.
Where is ozone used in the dental practice?
Due to the strong disinfecting and hemostatic effect of ozone, the gas has many uses in dentistry. It supports the treatment of inflammatory tooth pockets, periodontitis, root caries, root canal treatments as well as rhagades, herpes, aphthae and other skin infections in the mouth. Ozone, which kills germs and promotes healing, can reduce the use of medications such as antibiotics.
Ozone has a toxic effect on viruses and bacteria and can kill them or inhibit their activity.
In our children's and adolescent dental center, we work with DIAGNOdent, a laser fluorescence procedure for the early detection of caries. The hard tooth substance is flooded with a handy laser probe to determine the findings. When the laser light hits caries-altered tooth structure, fluorescent light is generated, which is picked up by a measuring probe and transmitted to the DIAGNOdent device. This simplifies caries diagnosis in children and adolescents, as the work is almost contact-free. DIAGNOdent is easy, fast and safe to use, with no side effects. The healthy tooth structure is protected with this procedure.
Children pay attention to what their parents do and say. Therefore, avoid paying excessive attention to the appointment. Be calm and do not put your child in a state of excitement. Present the visit as something completely normal. Explain that everyone goes to the dentist to stay healthy.
An important component in your child's journey to becoming fearless is the on-site experience. Come to the dentist's office with your child for a checkup so that extensive treatment is not necessary on the first visit. This could lead to a negative perception of the visit by your child.
Unfortunately, this cannot be answered in a blanket manner. The length of the appointment varies depending on the amount of treatment and the needs of your child. If it is about a check-up and getting to know each other first, the appointment will not last longer than 20 minutes. However, we are happy to take the time to explain the treatment procedures to your child and to address your child's individual needs.
Take a look at our pages on the various services. There you will find information about possible co-payments. We will be happy to provide you with more detailed information in our practice. Please do not hesitate to ask.
Yes. The nitrous oxide brings relaxation to the child without making him fall asleep. The American Society of Pediatric Dentistry rates this technique as very safe and effective in treating children's teeth. The gas is gentle, easy to ingest, and with normal breathing, it is quickly eliminated from the body. Nitrous oxide is not addictive. While inhaling nitrous oxide, your child remains fully conscious. Natural reflexes are not impaired.
General anesthesia may be necessary for particularly anxious or even very young children. Or also when a special or extensive dental treatment is necessary for which another form of sedation would not be appropriate.
,,With our many years of experience working with children, my practice team and I guarantee that your child is in good hands with us. With empathy and fun, we achieve our goal of improving your child's dental health."
