KAMILLA celebrates 18 years of pediatric dentistry in Mainz: an unforgettable day on the Rhine filled with adventure, fun, and team spirit!
18 years of KAMILLA – a special “birthday” full of adventure and community
Our “little adventure” began 18 years ago on Emmerich-Josef-Straße in Mainz – and today we look back with joy on how many baby teeth, happy children's smiles, and courageous visits to the dentist have become a great story!
Pediatric dentist Dr. Sandra Goedecke and the staff of the KAMILLA team celebrated this special anniversary in mid-August with an unforgettable trip on a houseboat on the Rhine. It was a fantastic event, and the wonderful moments will surely remain in the memories of the team at the Children's and Youth Dental Center for a long time to come.
Barbecue, paddling, and lots of team spirit
With a total of 14 people, we set sail from the starting point at Winterhafen Mainz. In bright sunshine and a balmy 32 degrees Celsius, we headed for the Bleiaue, a 2 km long tributary of the Rhine. During the trip, we enjoyed the wonderful weather on the sun deck, chatting and laughing – a wonderful break from everyday life.
A delicious barbecue picnic provided for our physical well-being, with our colleagues contributing delicious grilled food, crisp salads, and fine snacks. Thanks to our friendly tour guide, we were able to sit back, relax, and enjoy ourselves while she took care of the barbecuing on the houseboat for us.
When we arrived at the Bleiaue anchor point, a well-deserved refreshment awaited us: some of us swam in the cool water, while others explored the Rhine from the water on stand-up paddleboards. Fun and enjoyment were clearly the focus!
A fascinating sunset to round off the day
On the way back to the winter harbor, we were rewarded with a breathtaking sunset, the perfect end to a wonderful anniversary day. This shared experience and the many good conversations brought our team even closer together and were the highlight of the year for all of us!
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you, dear parents, and above all our little patients—because without your trust in dental health, 18 years full of laughter, courage, and healthy teeth would not have been possible!
